
What is the Dress Attire?
The overall attire for the day is resort casual. Think comfortable, relaxed, and polished. Sundresses, skirts, casual slacks, collared shirts, polos, and comfortable footwear are all great choices for the auction, dinner, and evening festivities.
For those participating in the golf tournament, we recommend standard golf attire. Golfers should plan to wear collared shirts or golf polos, golf shorts, skorts, or slacks, along with golf shoes or comfortable athletic shoes appropriate for the course. Please note that denim, gym shorts, and tank tops are typically discouraged on the course.
If you are golfing and also plan to attend the auction and dinner afterward, large locker rooms will be available on-site for your convenience. You are welcome to bring a change of clothes and freshen up before joining the evening celebration.
What is this year's Paddle Raise?
This year’s Paddle Raise, the Cougar Connection Challenge, focuses on refreshing two of our most visible and highly used spaces, Founders Hall and the Middle & Upper School Learning Commons. These areas serve as daily gathering places for students, families, and visitors, and this project will transform them into warm, welcoming, and inspiring environments that reflect the heart of Calverton.
During the live auction, guests will have the opportunity to raise their paddles at various giving levels, with each milestone unlocking meaningful upgrades, including new flooring, updated furnishings, and enhanced lighting. Every gift, at every level, helps bring this shared vision to life and strengthens the spaces where our community connects each day.

When can I start bidding on silent auction items?
On Saturday, April 18, the silent auction site will be live with max bidding and buy it now funtionality. Bidding closes on April 25 and you may pick up your winnings at the event or on Monday, April 27 in Founders Hall.
Do I need to be present to win the Noah Kahan DC Concert Experience Package?
No! The winner will be announced at the auction, but you do not need to be present to win.
How does Max Bid Work?
When you place a Max Bid, you’re telling the system the highest amount you’re willing to pay for an item—and then it does the work for you.
- Enter your max amount once
- The system will automatically increase your bid in small increments to keep you in the lead
- It only bids when someone else tries to outbid you
- It will never go above your max
This is called proxy bidding, where the platform bids on your behalf up to your limit.
What's to eat?
Golfers will enjoy a light breakfast, snacks, and lunch featuring sausage, hot dogs and burgers, along with beverages on the course including Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Bloody Marys, soda, juice, and more. VIP reception guests will have a variety of appetizers from Calvert Crabs and specialty drinks. Dinner buffet from Calvert Crabs includes a carving station with roast sirloin, red wine gravy, and horseradish sauce, along with chicken marsala, garden fresh salad, sautéed green beans, glazed baby carrots, and a baked potato bar with cheese, bacon, scallions, butter, and sour cream. Homemade cornbread and dinner rolls will also be served. A call open bar with liquor, wine, and beer will be available, and the buffet runs from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
When will I know if I've won an item?
Each auction category closes at a different time on Saturday between 8pm - 9pm. Be sure to place your max bids and turn on outbid notifications in your profile settings. A credit card is required to bid, and you may choose your preferred payment method at checkout or pay by check.
