Update #1 - 20 days ago
The Calverton community has already shown tremendous energy around Giving Tuesday, and many families have asked how this year’s $50,000 goal will support students across campus. When the goal is reached, approximately $8,000–$10,000 will be directed toward immediate enhancements on Chaney Field, including new soccer goals, refreshed seating, and improved athletic storage to support daily recess and PE use.
This year’s campaign also reflects family feedback requesting opportunities for gifts to create grade-level impact in addition to supporting a schoolwide project. In response, several targeted challenges have been added:
PreK Natural Playground upgrades, unlocked through PreK family giving
8th and 12th grade group trip enhancements, unlocked when each grade reaches $5,000 in parent support
Grade-level participation rewards — including Pajama & Hot Chocolate Day, Minute-to-Win-It Party, Popcorn & Movie Afternoon, and Dress-Down & Ice Cream Day — unlocked when classes reach 100% parent participation
Families have also asked about the long-term vision for the larger playground on Chaney Field. The current yellow structure, installed in 2004, is nearing the end of its 20–25-year lifespan. A full replacement will require a project of over $250,000, and even modest additions begin at $125,000. Calverton is actively pursuing major playground grants, and demonstrating strong participation — ideally 100% — significantly strengthens these applications.
Every gift, at every level, helps unlock meaningful experiences for students while supporting Calverton’s broader plans for future playground and field improvements. All gifts are also automatically entered to win fun Calverton swag.
